Bedroom
We lost all our posts on this blog; that means we get to start over. Silver lining?
We've done a good amount of work on the house since buying it, painted a few rooms, some electrical work, basement finishing, etc. We still have a lot of projects to get done, and are ever balancing what we want to do to the house verses how long we think we will live in it.
Here are a few shots of our bedroom. We desperately need to hang something on the wall, but other than that it is pretty much how we want it.

Home Procurement, How Not To Buy A House
After Match Day we had 2 and a half months to locate and purchase a house, close on it, and move in. During that time we also had many days taken up by Med School graduation preparation, and I also had to find a job or a transfer. Graduation at the George Washington University School of Medicine is a week-long event; there are ceremonies and galas galore. Audrey and I decided that we wanted to close on a house and move out stuff in before that week, then fly back to DC for the festivities. With everything that was going on, we were essentially charged with doing all of our research over the internet, getting the ball rolling on the loan, and then taking one weekend to visit Ann Arbor to see all the houses we could. After dumping the first guy we talked to, we found a lovely real estate agent named Connie. Connie understood what we had to do and was prepared to get us a house in one weekend. We saw or drove buy what seems like to my memory over 40 houses in two days. In true Audrey and Steve style after a long debate, we bought the very first house we stepped foot in.
